The Country Herbalist Pty Ltd is owned & run by Victoria Ferguson Dip. Herb. Med., who is a qualified and accredited human herbalist.

She is a member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society and the Holistic Animal Therapy Organisation & has been a practising herbalist since 1997.

Victoria is commited to empowering country people with information and remedies they can trust to become even more self reliant in dealing effectively with health challenges.    

She embraces classical herbal medicine philosophy which is to treat each body holistically to bring it back into balance, and to treat causes not just symptoms in each body system.  “The right herbs facilitate and accelerate the remarkable power of the body to heal itself”, she explains. 

“Preventive nutrition is another important factor in natural health, keeping all the body systems operating at peak efficiency, especially the immune system, which is the best way to prevent illness and disease. Essential nutrients in the form of herbs are part of that strategy,” Victoria points out.

Victoria has considerable experience integrating herbal and conventional treatments and also collaborates with a number of colleagues, who are highly qualified professionals in the natural health field.

Born & bred on a sheep station in central Queensland, and having lived & worked with animals for most of her life, Victoria understands country life, whether it’s on a small block on the urban fringes, or thousands of acres in the bush, and is very aware of the increasing difficulties in accessing reliable health care in those areas.

Victoria believes that while modern technology such as on line shopping is helpful, when it comes to health, country people need, want and appreciate old fashioned service, advice and support.

• Consultation service for all farm & companion animals (except horses) and their humans,  which provides holistic prescribing based on the information obtained in a complete profile, as well as advice on nutrient therapy and preventive nutrition.  The initial consultation fee is $55 for animals and $77 for humans, plus the cost of the holistic herbal prescription.  For animals this varies from 25 ml to 500 ml relative to their size and for people 100 ml.
